Witness the Excitement at the 2023 Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass
The Players Championship is one of the most prestigious events on the PGA Tour, attracting the best players in the world.[0] This year, the event will take place at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and will include 49 of the top 50 players in the FedEx Cup standings. The iconic 17th hole of the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass is one of the most recognizable holes in golf and is sure to provide plenty of excitement. With the unique course and the top players in the world competing, the 2023 Players Championship is sure to be an event to remember.
As always, Jon Rahm is among the favorites to win the tournament. He is currently ranked No. 2 in the world and is coming off of a runner-up finish at the Genesis Invitational in February. He will be looking to add an iconic title to his trophy case and become the first Spaniard to win the PLAYERS Championship. He is joined by world No. 1 Rory McIlroy and 2019 champion Cameron Smith, who, despite moving to the LIV Tour, cannot defend his title.
The field is rounded out by several PGA Tour winners this season, including Scottie Scheffler, Max Homa, and Patrick Cantlay, who are all looking to make a statement at TPC Sawgrass. The 2018 champion Webb Simpson, Xander Schauffele, Justin Rose, and Hideki Matsuyama are all expected to be in contention as well.
The course at TPC Sawgrass features TifEagles Bermudagrass greens, winding holes, and water traps, making scoring a difficult task.[1] The par-3 17th hole is arguably the most recognizable hole in golf and will be sure to provide plenty of excitement. The 16th hole is a par 5 and the easiest hole on the course, while the 18th is a 462-yard par 4 and plays as the hardest hole on the course.[2]
The tournament will be broadcast live on Sky Sports from 11.30am on Thursday and Friday and from 2.00pm on Saturday and Sunday.[3]
