LIV Golf Tucson: Torque GC Leads the Way Ahead of Big Three Showdown

The second LIV Golf event of the 2023 season is set to take place this week at The Gallery Golf Club in Marana, Arizona. This will be the second tournament of the LIV Golf League's second season, and 48 players and 12 teams will be on display. The play begins on Friday, March 17.^[0]

In the team competition, Torque GC, captained by Joaquin Niemann and featuring David Puig, are in first place at 10 under.^[1] Three teams are tied for second at nine under: Smash GC, captained by Brooks Koepka and including Matthew Wolff; Iron Heads GC, captained by Kevin Na; and Fireballs GC, captained by Sergio Garcia and including Abraham Ancer.^[2]

Three of the league's biggest stars – 4Aces GC's Dustin Johnson, Crushers GC's Bryson DeChambeau, and Smash GC's Brooks Koepka – are grouped together for the first time in their LIV Golf careers.^[3] The all-American trio have combined to win seven of the last 26 majors and will be hoping to make their mark on the 2023 season.

The latest 2023 LIV Golf Tucson odds have Cameron Smith as 9-1 favorite, followed by Dustin Johnson (10-1), Anirban Lahiri (35-1), Peter Uihlein (28-1), Carlos Ortiz (25-1), Bryson DeChambeau (14-1), Paul Casey (14-1), Charles Howell III (20-1), Abraham Ancer (14-1), Brendan Steele (28-1), and Matthew Wolff (22-1).^[0]

The tournament's live broadcast will start on Saturday, March 18 at 1:15 p.m. EST and continue on Sunday, March 19 at 1:05 p.m.^[4] EST on The CW and The CW App, CWTV.com.^[5] All eyes will be on the players and teams as they battle it out for top honors and a share of the $1.5 million prize pool.
