The 2023 Players Championship is just around the corner, and this year promises to be an exciting one.[0] The tournament will take place from Thursday, March 9, through Sunday, March 12, at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.[1] The action can be seen on NBC, Peacock and Golf Channel.[2]
The top Vegas favorites for the 2023 Players Championship include Jon Rahm (+850), Patrick Cantlay (+1900), Justin Thomas (+1900), and Scottie Scheffler (+1000). World No. 1 Jon Rahm withdrew prior to the second round, citing a stomach illness.[5] That opens the door for the likes of Viktor Hovland (+2700), Rickie Fowler (+5000), Hideki Matsuyama (+8500), and Kurt Kitayama (+3500) to make a run at the title.
The Players champion will take home a record-breaking $4.5 million, the largest winner's share in PGA Tour history.[0] Collin Morikawa (+2800) is among the favorites this week, and if he wins, he would become the second player to have two majors and a Players Championship win before age 27, joining Tiger Woods.[5]
TV coverage of the tournament will take place from Thursday, March 9, 12-6 p.m. ET on Golf Channel and Peacock, Friday, March 10, 12-6 p.m.[6] ET on Golf Channel, and Saturday-Sunday, 1 p.m.-6 p.m. ET on NBC.[6] There are also live streams available from 6:45 a.m. to 6 p.m.[7] ET on ESPN+ and 7:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
