PGA Tour Stars Collin Morikawa and Adam Scott Join TMRW Golf League Roster

Orlando[0] – PGA TOUR stars Collin Morikawa and Adam Scott are the latest players to join Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm and Justin Thomas on the roster for the TMRW Golf League (TGL).[1] TMRW Sports co-founders Woods and McIlroy, as well as founder and CEO Mike McCarley, made the announcement.[2]

Morikawa and Scott have both won majors, with Morikawa having won the 2020 PGA Championship and 2021 Open Championship and Scott having won the 2013 Masters.[3] They join a roster of elite golfers, including Woods and McIlroy, who have committed to play in the primetime golf league, which is set to begin in January 2024.

In a statement, Scott expressed his enthusiasm for being involved in the evolution of professional golf, saying, “I am excited to play a part in its future for golfers and fans alike.”[4] I am thrilled to participate in TGL and am eager to perform with my teammates and other contenders on the new Palm Beach stage.[5]

The Golfing League (TGL) is a golf league that will collaborate with the PGA Tour, offering prime-time play for teams.[6] It will feature six teams of three players competing in 15 regular-season matches on Monday nights starting January 2024.[6] The tournaments will take place on digital platforms, enabling viewers to observe each stroke as it happens during prime time TV.[7]

McCarley stated, “The recruitment of Collin Morikawa and Adam Scott for the TGL roster will only increase our momentum as we prepare for launch. These two champions are perfect examples of the high caliber of players we are aiming to bring to the TGL.”[3] In their embrace of TGL, fans are given the opportunity to watch short-form, elite competition in primetime, where world-class players go head-to-head in team match play.[0]

Scott stated that the timing of the league's existence is fortuitous, due to the ever-increasing global demand for simulated golf.[8] He said: “I’ve seen an uptick in simulator golf when I travel outside of the United States, especially through Asia. There are tournaments with thousands of entrants playing against each other. It’s simple, not everyone can access a golf course.”[1]

“Tiger pushed golf to a standard that was never seen before, and guys are continuing to push forward,” Scott told Sports Illustrated.[9]
