2023 Players Championship: Top Picks, Tee Times, and Current Leader
The 2023 Players Championship is set to begin this week, with a field of PGA TOUR stars vying for the top spot. With the odds and predictions set, here is a look at the top picks for the tournament, as well as the tee times for the first two rounds.
Max Homa, Justin Thomas, and Jordan Spieth are the top picks for the 2023 Players Championship, with each of them listed at +850. Ben Griffin, Matthias Schwab, and Justin Lower come in at +1000, and Nate Lashley, Troy Merritt, and Kelly Kraft are all listed at +2500.[0] Other notable names include Rory McIlroy (+850), Jon Rahm (+800), Matt Fitzpatrick (+2500), Tony Finau (+2500), Collin Morikawa (+2500), and Jason Day (+3500).[1]
The Players Championship Round 1 and 2 tee times have been released, with some of the featured players being Robby Shelton, Austin Smotherman, and Min Woo Lee at 6:50 a.m. ET, Chris Kirk, Seamus Power, and Keegan Bradley at 1:18 p.m., Scott Piercy, James Hahn, and Nick Watney at 7:40 a.m., Aaron Rai, Dylan Wu, and Erik Barnes at 8:51 a.m., Justin Rose, Billy Horschel, and Hideki Matsuyama at 1:07 p.m., Nico Echavarria, Sungjae Im, and Harris English at 1:18 p.m., Jhonattan Vegas, Peter Malnati, and Ryan Fox at 1:29 p.m., Adam Hadwin, Patrick Rodgers, and Greyson Sigg at 1:40 p.m., Nick Hardy, Eric Cole, and Harrison Endycott at 1:51 p.m., Kevin Tway, Russell Knox, and Chesson Hadley at 6:50 a.m., and Andrew Putnam, Maverick McNealy, and Doc Redman at 7:01 a.m.[2]
As of 12:17 p.m., Collin Morikawa is in the lead at -7, with Chad Ramey in a tie with him. Morikawa had a chance to extend his lead with a birdie on his last hole of the day, but he pulled it left from about seven feet, settling for a par.[0]
