Unforgettable Golf Experience: Tiger Woods Announces New Mountain Course Design in Park City, Utah

Golf legend Tiger Woods announced his latest golf course design project at Marcella Club in Park City, Utah on Tuesday.[0] The course, which is expected to open in 2025, is the first mountain design for Woods and the fourth golf course to bear his name.[1] The course, which will be more than 8,000 yards from the tips, will offer engaging play for every ability, with generous landing areas, contoured greens and strategic choices for the best scoring opportunities.

The Marcella Club will feature two 18-hole courses, with the second course slated to open after the TGR Design course is completed.[2] Marcella Club will be one of the most exclusive golf clubs in Utah, offering only 500 full golf memberships for its 36-hole facility.[3] In addition, a clubhouse and practice facility will be part of the golf developments.[4] Rep. Doug Walton, R-Payson, introduced a bill this legislative session trying to make all golf courses in the state disclose how much water they use in an attempt to fight Utah's drought conditions.[5]

Woods, who has been the architect of nearly a dozen courses in varying degrees of completion since he opened his first public course at Payne's Valley in Missouri's Ozark Mountains in 2020, is also trying to make golf more accessible for the average income household.[5] He said, “The canvas for my course is one of the most dramatic I’ve ever seen… It has ridgelines with some of the most stunning views in the world, valleys with amazing contours and topography, and groves of trees that allow me to use creativity to bring to life a golf experience that’s something special.”[6]

The golf course is scheduled to open in 2025 and is sure to offer an unforgettable golf experience.[6]
