Sir Nick Faldo Slams LIV Golf and Greg Norman Over Ryder Cup Involvement

Sir Nick Faldo has had a long and successful career in golf, competing in 11 straight Ryder Cup’s from 1977 to 1999 for Europe.[0] His rivalry with Australian Greg Norman was one of the most legendary in golfing history, and now Faldo has had his say on the LIV Golf Series and its involvement with the Ryder Cup.[1]

Faldo argued that LIV Golf does nothing to help grow the game of golf, calling it a “meaningless” tour.[2] He was also critical of its involvement in the Ryder Cup, calling it “antagonistic” and “embarrassing” to the existing tours.

When talking about Norman, Faldo didn’t hold back, saying that he had “wrecked” his legacy by choosing to lead the controversial tour.[3] He also expressed his belief that any Europeans who had joined LIV Golf should never be part of the Ryder Cup ever again, in any capacity.[4]

The likelihood of the LIV Golfers playing in the Ryder Cup this year seems incredibly implausible given the form of the before-mentioned players and the fact they are now banned from the PGA Tour.[5]

Sir Nick Faldo’s stance on LIV Golf and the Ryder Cup is clear, and it is sure to spark much debate amongst the golfing community.
