Rickie Fowler’s ‘Wholesome’ Moment With a Young Fan and His Putting Game
Rickie Fowler, the popular PGA Tour golfer, is known for his impressive golf skills and “wholesome” moments with fans. Recently, while participating in the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in San Diego, Fowler had a special moment with a young fan. After hitting his tee shot on the first hole during the first round of the tournament, Fowler was presented with a drawing of himself from the fan. “He drew me a little picture, so I'm guessing that's me since my name is down here,” he said, adding that the drawing was definitely going into his bag for good luck.[0]
In addition to his special moment with a young fan, Fowler has also been making changes to his game in order to improve his putting. He told GolfWRX last week, per the PGA Tour, that he has been grinding and working on his normal stuff, but has been struggling with his confidence and making confident strokes.[1] Recently, he has been experimenting with a longer, counterbalanced putter, which is making him more comfortable with his putting game.
Fowler's impressive golf skills, coupled with his “wholesome” moments with fans, have made him a fan favorite. The American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) even gives its players custom-made bag tags, which are a marker of a great player, so college coaches can easily identify each player's graduation year when scouting.[2]
