LIV Golf Launches LIV Golf Plus and LIVGolfPlus.com Ahead of 2023 Season

Today, LIV Golf revealed the launch of their new app and streaming platform, LIV Golf Plus and LIVGolfPlus.com. This gives fans all around the globe the chance to watch and enjoy both live and recorded coverage of the 2023 LIV Golf League. Starting February 24-26, people from around the world can watch LIV Golf tournaments with LIV Golf Mayakoba being the first event of the league's first official season. People in over 180 countries will be able to tune in.[0]

“The introduction of the LIV Golf Plus streaming app ensures fans around the world will receive direct access to live and on-demand coverage of our league’s groundbreaking launch,” said Will Staeger, LIV Golf Chief Media Officer. We are delighted to offer our cutting-edge coverage of golf's greatest stars such as Cam Smith, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, and Phil Mickelson to fans across the globe through the LIV Golf Plus streaming app, which follows in the footsteps of other major sports leagues' content distribution strategies by providing more access to our content from various places and to various people, from the usual golf consumer to the casual sports and entertainment viewer who is new to golf. We plan on expanding our content on LIV Golf Plus in the upcoming seasons, enabling viewers to form stronger connections with our athletes in all corners of the planet.

The circuit unveiled LIV Golf Plus and LIVGolfPlus.com on Thursday, which they stated would provide the capacity for viewers in 180 countries to view their events live and at no cost. This year, LIV Golf will be broadcast on television, a change from last season.[1] A U.S. broadcasting deal was arranged between the tour and The CW, who will be airing all LIV events for the present season.[1] The CW app will provide live coverage of the first round of tournaments on Fridays, while the second and third rounds will air live on Saturdays and Sundays on The CW and its affiliates.

LIV Golf in January inked a three-year deal with The CW network to provide exclusive coverage of all 14 LIV Golf events in 2023 and beyond in the U.S. Financial terms of the deal weren't released, but sources told ESPN that it is a revenue-sharing arrangement and that LIV Golf won't receive rights fees from the CW network and would continue to pay production costs, as it did during its inaugural season in 2022.[2]
